Breathing With Nature

Dr Edward Bach

Dr Edward Bach

Dr Bach’s words, originally written as instructions for practitioners about 100 years ago, speak straight to us in our present situation.

Peace, Hope, Joy and Faith are true foundation stones of a balanced life.

In such times as the present, where big changes befall each one of us whether individually or jointly, it could easily be possible to lose ourselves in what is happening around us. We worry about the future and fear lingers around and in us whilst listening to the news. We may have financial or health concerns. All this could render us powerless and disillusioned.

What could help us right now to move forward reassured and with a brighter perspective?

When we are able to stop ourselves running away with our thoughts, when we can return to the present moment, where we are right now, writing or reading this, sitting behind our desk, in the garden, in your kitchen….. breathing………when we are fully immersed in the NOW, we realise that all we need in this very moment is available to us: fresh air, shelter, food, sunshine, health and the possibility of very good health.

Our breath is one of the best tools to bring us back.

Each inbreath could be associated with breathing in relaxation, peace, courage… anything you most need at this time and with each outbreath we could let go.

Let go of worries, fears, and stress.

Can I encourage you to take time to do just that whenever you have a moment? Even if only for one minute.

BREATHE………IN………BREATHE………OUT………BREATHE………IN………BREATHE………OUT

You may have noticed that when you consciously followed your breath in and out you automatically became calm whilst at the same time oxygen has been flooding your body.

Yogis have known for thousands of years that it is not so much the postures we do in yoga but rather the guiding of the breath (pranayama) that reconnects us with ourselves, improves our focus, helps us to become more positive, boosts our immune system, increases our self-confidence, improves our vitality, reduces anxiety and depression to name a few.

Together with the Bach flowers this momentary state of peace and calm can become a constant in troubled times.

I would love to hear from you.

Please do send me a text, an email or give me a ring and let me know how you are doing.

For some years I have been fortunate enough to benefit from the range of skills Agnes offers as a therapist from cranial sacral treatment and Bach flower remedies, to simply talking through concerns rationally and objectively. When Agnes suggested that technology could help fill the gap left by not being able to receive hands on treatments, I was keen to explore the idea. Sessions through Skype or Zoom have proved incredibly helpful, not least as they allow a safe and dedicated time to talk through any issues and put them in perspective. Relaxation and visualisation techniques, combined with Bach flower remedies advised by Agnes have had an almost immediate impact on my poor sleep pattern and pain issues, resulting in significant improvement in my mood and stress levels and my general ability to adapt to our changed circumstances.

I have been visiting Agnes for many years now, for 1-2-1 sessions at her studio which I have always found beneficial.

When the lockdown came Agnes suggested the option to undertake online treatments and as I am a great follower and believer in alternative therapies, I was keen to try.

My online session incorporated the use of tapping and a subsequent provision of Bach flower remedies specifically targeted at my various ailments and to help with the healing process by bringing deeper seated issues to the surface to aid in their release.

I will be having further sessions with Agnes

I have been seeing Agnes for many years for help through her Bach Flower Remedy work. Most recently, during the lockdown, I spoke with her about a deep dread I was feeling of the world outside and how I felt unable to approach the outside again without fear. This fear had grown strong enough to emotionally paralyse me, which was disturbing as until then I had been positive and using my time to be creative with plans for my new business. Agnes listened to me quietly, and when ready she asked questions to help test her understanding of the position I had found myself in. She suggested a handful of remedies, explained their qualities, and we decided together which of these fitted my condition. The following morning my outlook on life had completely changed. I could hardly believe how I had descended to such a place. The dread from the day before was a distant memory, and I started a new day with joy. I am grateful to these wonderful remedies that truly can turn a negative emotion into a creative situation.
